End trouble

There was a lot going on in the so-called "meantime", when I had time off from writing blog entries, and instead we were organizing our life without a computer.

If it weren't for the help of our local friends, we wouldn't have found a good place to repair our laptop. The unit was seriously damaged (something broke inside) and without specialized equipment there would be no diagnosis or repair.

It took 24 hours, we drove a lot of kilometers from the turtle spot to the city and back, and we spent some money on the repair itself.

In Poland, such a repair would probably be unprofitable - here, for USD 40, I have a "like new" laptop.

Tomorrow there will be entries and photos…

PS

We feel cheated by various textbook guides that consider the dry season in Sri Lanka to be from December to the end of March.

The locals say this is not true, December is the rainy season. Well, that's exactly what we're experiencing.

We have a few (too few!) hours of sunshine a day, and then it rains or pours.

The temperature is constantly high, above 30°C, and, of course, high humidity.

This only worries us a little, because we like it here anyway, and contacts with the locals working in tourist services are worth staying and getting to know Sri Lanka.
