At sea

Kissamos is the name of the town with a port, from where you sail to the most famous beaches: Gramvousa and Balos.

Anyone who has been to the western end of Crete knows that this is an absolute "must see" of the island.

The offer to spend 8 hours on a cruise among many tourists to see these places did not suit us at all.

The purpose of our cruise:

We chose a much more exciting, although slightly more demanding way to get to the beaches: we rented a motorboat (without a helmsman) and sailed to our destination on our own.

At times it was not easy: the wind was blowing at the open sea and the waves were a bit beyond our sailing skills.

Adek as the helmsman overcame the sea and, soaked, windy through and slightly stressed, we returned to the home port.

Relaxation in the bay, the views, and above all the color of the water changing depending on its depth and the size of the waves compensated for the worries about whether we would return home.
