Imlil in the Atlas mountains

Imlil  - a Berber village is situated some  100 km from Marrakesz.

This is a beautiful place which is very important turistically as it shows still another face of Morroco.

Here is some information from the Wikipedia:

"The region of the High Atlas Mountains is very different from the rest of Morocco. Berber tribes inhabiting the north- west Africa were never completely conquered by invaders. To this day they do not pay taxes the government of the state, but do not receive from them any official grants or assistance. The indigenous population living for more than 3,000 years mainly in the mountain areas of Morocco is a convicted solely on his own, passed down from generation to generation, the ability to adapt to the harsh conditions in which they operate. Village life is centred on the main unit of society, which creates a very large family and tribe which owns the farm. The attitude of Berbers to home, fields, family, and the animals survived to the present time practically unchanged. Thanks to a long-lived tradition these original and at the same time fascinating communities, can survive in extreme conditions, rocky, mountainous wilderness."

It's time to go back to Europe. There's driving to Marrakesh and the journey by train to Casablanca left for us. Finally, the flight back to Barcelona.

It's a pity we have to be leaving Morocco. There's still so much to see here!
