Bangkok - the world of Buddhism

According to the agreement wiith f the participants ot the trip - everybody (including 7 pairs) are involved in the creation of this blog: taking photos of the day and preparing an appropriate text.

Let's see if this idea will appeal to zaglądającym here.

Ata and Bogdan begin this cycle:

Today - Wat Pho - the largest and oldest temple complex with the famous temple resting Buddha.

The huge (46 m long and 15 m high) statue of the reclining Buddha, lying comfortably on the right side, captured at the moment of achieving nirvana, made of bricks covered with gilded plaster.

We got there, unfortunately, at the renovation of its ornate pearl mass feet, nevertheless,  the closiness with such god impressed us ...

Behind him, theere has been set dozens of bowls, to which the faithful throw coins in turn,  providing themselves prosperity...Many of the tourists follow the locals..

Within the Wat Pho, beyond the great golden Buddha, there are other temples and gardens, and a school of traditional Thai massage.

Next, we marched to the Royal Palace called Grand Palace, and there are numerous temples, among them the one in which on a  high throne sits a tiny figure of the Emerald Buddha (made of jada!). The palace was built in the eighteenth century. Currently, there do not live the royal family and it serves to hold the great state ceremonies.

This temple - Wat Pra Kaeo - the Emerald Buddha - is reportedly one of the most important places for Thai Buddhists. The small Buddha statue is placed on top of a high altar and is dressed in a variety of wonderful clothes depending on the season and circumstances. This operation can be performed by the king himself, or an important monk.

Most of the faithful coming in crowds into the temple, kneel and pray before the altar. We have used this opportunity to take a look closely at the elaborate to ornaments. Photographing is prohibited inside - the feelings you get there must be simly remembered.

Is the hotel's Internet connection still like a heavy truck on the high way? :)
