Among elephants in the jungle

The second  day was promising a light trekking…

We woke up after approx. 8 hours of sleep in comfortable hammocks. The smoke from the fire and the smell of coffee said it was time to get up.

Our guides prepared light breakfast with baguettes (because Cambodia is the only country in Asia with baguettes), and after packing the camp, we put on the backpacks, and moved on.

Surprise, surprise: we learned that we were facing a seven-hour  intensive trekking through a lot of hills through the jungle,  hiking on open plateaus in full sunshine, going down sharp descents to the rivers / waterfalls.

And then the final difficulty: crossing the torrent river on slippery rocks, just above a waterfall!

A possible falling down threatened any electronics we were carrying, to get wet. Well, a strong stress. But we overcame it.

On the other side of the river – a village to bathe elephants!

The rest of the story is  being told by the photos.

Enjoy them as much as we did!
