New Year Eve's celebrations

TO ALL OUR BELOVED (AND LOVING US?), READERS FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTAS -THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH FOR YOU WISHES THAT SIMPLY CAN’T GET UNFULFILLED!

WE BELIEVE THAT 2019 WILL BE THE ONE WE ALL ARE LOOKING FOR !! PATIENCE!

Just before the evening we said goodbye to Ewa and Adam from Poland (Bydgoszcz and Toruń), who, after romantic engagement by a waterfall – are leave Cambodia. We’d spent two nice evenings with them at The Chameleon.

A moment later, Lim came up with his tuk-tuk and brought Ruud - a Dutchman and Christofer - from Belgium, after a two-day tour.

We gave them time to prepare for dinner, and we, as usual, spent some time in the kitchen and at the front.

Our menu:

Bordauox white wine "Le Grande Verdus"

Vichysoise soup with shrimps (leek soup)

Tiger shrimps in tomato and coconut sauce (spicy)

Unknown fish broiled in deep oil

Poppy seed cake

Lim and his wife arrived midnight with New Year’s wishes, and for each of us got a long stick with 80 mini fireworks each.

We went to the riverside where since early evening crowds had been gathering on their mats enjoying the company and food. The young had their disco with decibels off the scale.

Thousands of people directed those long sticks towards the river, forming an endless row of flares.

Then there were fireworks fired from the other side of the river. Then the party slowly ended.

There were tons of rubbish on the boulevard and thousands of mini-firework sticks floating down the river.

Then a walk along the tents of the New Year's Market at the extension of the boulevard, still on the river.

A deafening music from many sources was not really to our liking. Until 3:00 in the morning, though..

Things known to us are known to us as Chinese production, but these are made locally. Low prices, even lower quality. I did not have the courage to photograph.

From everywhere, she "gave" music in a mix that was difficult to like. And so until 3:00 in the morning.
