Today 33 km: we rode to Germany through the border town of Bobolin!
The Bobolin-Schwennenz border crossing - existing in 1993-2007 as a Polish-German border crossing point for local border traffic - is simply cute! The remnant of the "bridge" border resembles how it used to be!!
Apparently, at that time, a "smuggling trail" of goods that were lacking in Poland or were much more expensive in Germany, was functioning this way. So, it was beneficial for both sides!
Today "on the other side" there are beautifully maintained roads with very are few cars. Many people cannot be seen either. But gnomes and beautiful plaster animals are present in the gardens. All native of Poland?
