California - San Francisco, the cultural

We are not doing any extensive sightseeing in San Francisco, because we know the city form our previous trips.

We indulge ourselves in a social life since we are staying at Terenia Offenbacker's in Los Altos Hills (you are going to read more about her in tomorrow's entry). Our mutual friend Renata G. came here all the way from Washington DC.

Today we decided to see a beautiful exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco (photography is prohibited but there are some shots anyway!) Masters of Venice. Renaissance Painters of Passion and Power from the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna: Titian, Giorgione, Veronese, Tintoretto, Mantegna and others. It was a great pleasure to look at those masterpieces.

Then we drove to Sausalito to the other side of the Bay (more about it toworrow as well). It meant driving over the Golden Gate Bridge both ways.

We were lucky because the weather over the Bay is not always as beautiful and sunny.
