We are on the island of Usedom!

Uznam (German Usedom) - "a coastal island in the Baltic Sea on the border of Poland (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) and Germany (Vorpommern-Greifswald poviat, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), closing the Szczecin Lagoon from the north-west.

Area 445 km², of which about 72 km² is in Poland;strongly fragmented, with numerous peninsulas. The Piana Strait separates the island from the mainland, the Świna Strait from the Wolin Island, while the Piast Canal, artificially made at the end of the 19th century, separated the Karsibór island from Usedom.

With an annual average of 1,906 hours of sunshine, Usedom is one of the sunniest regions in Germany and is therefore sometimes referred to as the Sun Island (German: Sonneninsel) there. "

We will be staying in Karlsghagen - right by the sea.

The navigation confuses us a bit, but we eventually come to the right address - a colony of summer houses for rent.

The house is beautiful, so is the plot around, but the house is closed and no one is waiting for us.

The lady on the indicated phone does not speak English and cannot help us.

The booking office in Poland is trying to do something about it, but iall is in vain anyway.

There will be a "relocation" or  a resignation.

The son of one of the participants of our group works in Germany, so with his help we manage to reach the emergency number and ... after 4 hours of "kissing the door handle" the lady comes with the keys.

Also only in German, but now I'm doing better and everything is arranged as agreed!

And  was being told to learn German, not some exotic languages!

Four hours in the sunshine in a beach basket (garden equipment) was not that unpleasant, but the prospect was not the best.

Uou short holidays begin!
