On the beach. The Myths part 1

The weather forecast for the coming days tells us that from Tuesday there might be a considerate drop of temperature and it may rain.

So, we decide to spend Monday on sunbathing.

It’s hot but moderated by quite strong winds.

There is no question of bathing, as the waves are quite large. But how photogenic they are, though!

Out of boredom, while sunbathing, I was watching various beach activities. Well, among others: sun exposure, talking (a little too loud), reading, and drinking.

The beach bar serves all kinds of drinks based on local alcohols, but generously poured.

Today about the myths, part one:

“Crete is considered the birthplace of Zeus.

His father and mother were among the twelve titans - children of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth). His mother was Rhea and his father was Cronus. Unfortunately, Cronus heard a prophecy that he would eventually be overthrown by his own son. His solution was simple - he devoured his children immediately after birth. Rhea managed to save her youngest child and tricked Cronus by feeding a stone wrapped in a blanket. What did she do with a real baby? She hid him on the island of Crete.

Zeus had great affection for Crete. And also great sympathy for women; among the many, many of his trysts place in Crete."

These are the wives and mistresses of Zeus.

Ajgina, Alkmena, Antiopa (daughter of Nicteus), Chaldene, Danae, Demeter, Dione, Elektra (Pleiades), Europa (Agenor's daughter), Eurynome (okeanida), Hera, Himalia, Io, Callisto, Lamia, Laodamia (daughter of Bellerophon), Leda, Leto, Maja, Majra (daughter of Projtos), Metyda, Mnemosyne, Niobe (daughter of Foroneus), Pluto, Selene, Semele, Tajgete, Themis (titanid).
