Santorini

After a thousand entries from the trips "around the world", it would seem that the experience gained in this field should help in overcoming difficulties both in choosing a topic, deciding what to exclude (!) from the entry and in finding a way to describe what is most interesting and most important.

Santorini is such a place on earth that we have visited, and which gave us only doubts about what to write about.

More than 6 hours (this is due to the organization of one-day trips) of visiting three cities on Santorini, listening to the extraordinary story of the guide Stella (a Polish resident of this island), and then confirming the news on the Internet, caused me the aforementioned doubts.

I had to decide how to make an entry to show the beauty of this island and not to miss the incredible, dramatic history of Santorini.

Brainstorming helped and hence the decision: On the blog, we show the most beautiful place on earth that everyone has heard about and whose postcard fragments everyone has seen.

I called it the most delightful tourist trap we fell into, and we never regretted getting caught in it.

Time for the photos because they are self-explanatory.

Attention:

Extremely interesting topics such as:

- the history of Santorini from antiquity, through the Middle Ages, world wars and current problems,

- numerous and tragic earthquakes.

- unique crops,

- development of aggressive tourism,

- fight for water and electricity,

- fight with current economic problems,

do not fit into the formula of this blog, so in order to preserve and consolidate the acquired knowledge supported by eye confirmation, I decided to transfer the whole thing to a PowerPoint presentation.

It may take several weeks to prepare, but will be available upon request, as a result.
