Szczecin illuminated with dozens of colours!
Iluminacje Szczecin is an event that has been organized since 2019. Parts of the city are illuminated in such a way that walkers can admire the unique facades of buildings, parks and squares.
Szczecin's universities, cultural institutions and local artists are involved in the event.
And this way it should be around mid-August each year.
This time, the main event took place on August 14, after dark.
From the information of the City Hall:
“Among the alleys of Park Żeromski, 10 zones will be located that will make an amazing impression on visitors. The night scenery combined with the greenery and vegetation of the Park will make this place look completely different. Walking through the park's alleys, you will be able to admire retro lamps, forest monsters, a neon zone, ocean creatures or boho decorations that will look best in photos. Walkers will have maps at their disposal, and thanks to illuminated signposts, they will know exactly which way to go so as not to miss anything. Additionally, on the section of ul. Plantowa Street Food Zone with food trucks will be created. In the park you will also be able to visit the Disco Zone with a green "dance floor" hidden among the trees and the Chillout Zone with deckchairs and beer stands."
At 10.30 pm we went out "to the city" and starting our night walk from pl. Grunwaldzki, we were completely surprised: there were countless (!) crowds of residents and tourists in the streets. Never before in our city have I seen, on the main avenues and streets this many people at the same time rushing towards Żeromski Park!
We spent almost 2 hours on this walk with satisfaction registering the joy of adults and children (!) despite the late hour.
Naturally, the perfect weather (23°) at midnight encouraged people to celebrate in the streets.
