A cruise (or rather a little cruise) on the Oder river

After a break, we are back on the blog...

There were few interesting events in July, because the bad weather did not encourage trips!

Sunny and warm Sunday, after more than a month of cloudy sky and rain, gave us an impulse for a small cruise on the Oder River.

Watching fragments of the city, harbour and Szczecin's Venice* from the boat provided a lot of impressions and encouraged us to take more cruises on the Oder River, to areas where nature has its voice.

In a week, on Sunday, there will be Szczecin "The Sails" days. We will rent the boat again to show the rally of small, medium and large sailing boats.

Here are some snapshots from today's cruise.

* Right next to the Szczecin Główny Railway Station, there is a mysterious place, which can be reached by a small bridge.

We are talking about Szczecin's Venice, one of the most charming industrial locations in the city.

Tenement houses and factory buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries protruding straight out of the water are the historic buildings of the alcohol and yeast factory, which used to decorate the entire industrial belt along the Oder river.

The best view, however, is from the water side, no wonder that Szczecin's Venice is the main point of the trail for many kayaking trips.
