The Tea Train

Sri Lanka = tea!

We all know that, but experiencing a stay among tea fields (even in the rain), seeing the (British) technology of tea processing until it is sold, is a considerable dose of knowledge and gaining respect for the hard-working women on the plantation.

From Nuvara Elija we tooka train called "Tea Train" to Ella.

Rain, fog, or clouds, among which our express train is rushing, limits the visibility of the vast tea fields and the surrounding mountains (altitude approx. 1,800 m above sea level). It's a bit chilly.

Young people (and not only them) have fun sticking out the windows and open doors of the train, taking amazing photos.

Still in the rain, we reached Ella - our today’s destination.

Drinks end a long day…

PS. Sri Lanka, as I have already said, is very green, but in the mountains it is simply a journey through a dense, civilized jungle, from which large tracts of land have been torn out for tea cultivation.
