Performance at the Silesian Opera in Bytom

After the underground attractions, which took over 2 hours, we returned to Katowice to prepare for our visit to the Silesian Opera in Bytom.

A beautiful opera that has never been staged in Szczecin!

The program says:

"The Pearl Fishers" is one of Georges Bizet's most beautiful compositions. A moving, passionate story of lifelong friendship put to a great test.

The setting of the story is a small fishing village in distant Ceylon. The village chief Zurga and the hunter Nadir fall in love with the beautiful priestess Leila. In the name of their friendship, they renounce this love. After a long absence, Leila comes to the village and betrays her calling as a priestess - despite her promise of chastity, a violent passion erupts between her and Nadir. When the affair comes to light, the village chief is forced to issue a death sentence on the lovers. Will Zurga sacrifice her love in the name of friendship and the good of the people she loves?"

Bizet - the creator of "Carmen", made the work "The Pearl Fishers", which is captivating, and the Silesian creators produced a performance that delights listeners with music, choreography and performance by soloists.
