Weekend in San Francisco

On Saturday we were spying on the inhabitants of San Francisco while they were  relaxing more or less actively in the city parks.

One of the main activities is taking their dogs for long walks. We assume that there are as many dogs as the inhabitants in San Francisco, if not more. Fortunately, everybody obeys the rules of having the dogs on a leash and cleaning up after them.

A tranquil Sunday in San Francisco usually begins late, around noon. Customarily, brunch is the first meal.

Our Sunday began with brunch at Ron Schmidt's (more about him in our entry from 28th of January). After the visit we spent a while in an Englisdh cafe with great teas and other extras for a Sunday afaternoon. You need to book a table in advance. We were given one which was reserved by someone else, just for one hour.

Then a viisit in a Basilica of Grace where we admired the interfaith chapel which honoured men and women who died of AIDS, a meditation labirynth, and beautiful stainglass windows.

Then again we went ot the movies to see "My Week with Marilyn" about Marilym Monroe's work with Lawrence Olivier on the picture "The Prince and the Showgirl". The film id definitely worth seeing.

To finish off our easy Sunday we went for dinner to a club where thw tables are waited by transsexual who later on give a special show. The place was packed and the audience had a lot of fun.

The night life seems much more exotic than anything one might find in Poland. Or perhaps, I haven't been invited to the right parties :)
