Wikipedia writes about this city in the shortest way:"Nice (French: Nice) is located in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, in the Alpes-Maritimes department. It is the fifth-largest city in France with a population of 342,295 within its administrative boundaries.

(…) The Promenade des Anglais, 7 km long, stretches along the coast. The city has commercial, passenger, and fishing ports, as well as Nice-Côte d'Azur International Airport (the third-largest in France in terms of passenger numbers). It is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean Sea."

Why English?

"Nice's Promenade des Anglais is renowned for many reasons, including its rich history, beautiful architecture, and numerous cultural and sporting attractions. Here are just a few:

  • History: The Promenade des Anglais dates back to the 18th century, when Nice was a popular holiday destination for the English aristocracy.
  • Architecture: The Promenade des Anglais is known for its elegant architecture, including luxury hotels such as the Hotel Negresco.
  • Attractions: The Promenade des Anglais offers not only walking but also opportunities for running, cycling, and cultural and sporting events.”

For us, it was a beautiful walk on a sunny afternoon, during which, in addition to admiring the architecture, we enjoyed the tourists at the end of the high season.

The Promenade des Anglais is worth the walk!

But prices don't fluctuate seasonally. They're always high.
