Bye bye Krabi!

With a short entry on Monday, December 15th, we conclude our stay in southern Thailand – in the Krabi region.

We weren't particularly active in tourism, but that was our intention.

We arrived here after a busy 2025, which didn't exactly spoil the Poles with beautiful weather.

Climate change has also had its impact in Thailand, so after heavy rains and floods during the rainy season, frequent rainfall also occurs now during the dry season.

As a result, we only had two sunny days, and the others were just hot and we didn't complain about the lack of beach time... Chang beer tastes delicious regardless of the ambient temperature.

The tube of sunscreen remained untouched! It's good enough for the hot Polish summer of 2026.

We feel good – healthy, rested, and ready for the next stage of our trip.

In a moment, we'll be heading to Krabi airport, from where we'll fly to Bangkok, and from there we'll transfer to Cambodia – to the new airport in Phnom Penh, which will be presented to you later.

P.S.

There are no sunbeds or umbrellas on Thai beaches due to strict national park regulations designed to protect the ecosystem, and restrictions introduced after years of over-commercialization and destruction, which were intended to prevent abuse and restore nature to its wild character; the authorities prefer simple, natural sunbathing, and the sunbed business is being restricted in favor of environmental protection and authenticity.

We fully support this ban because we know that, beneath the beautiful idea of nature conservation, the ban's goal was to eliminate the (Russian?) mafia that was reaping huge profits by renting out deckchair and umbrella sets for a fortune. None of this benefited local residents!
