There's a party!

Here's a report from the 35th anniversary celebration of CJO PROGRESS.

PART I.

On a beautiful May afternoon, beloved PROGRESS's English teachers and several invited guests gathered on the terrace of the hospitable home of Iza and Jasiek Landsberg.

As befits teachers organizing teaching, they now had to adhere to the event's program, complete several tasks (not necessarily linguistic) and demonstrate a good memory of their past work at PROGRESS.

Task 1: Mark acquaintances from a list of over 200 names of CJO PROGRESS employees (Poles and native speakers). The winner was the person who knew the most. There was a prize!

Task 2: In a combined photo from over 20 years ago (!!), of teachers present today, get their signatures and reminisce...

Task 3: Sing the PROGRESS song along and admire the work of the PROGRESS boss with AI support!

We tried to sing it together, but the tempo of the disco polo tune and the sophisticated lyrics of this "poetry" would have required some preparation...

Here: the recording of the song and the lyrics:

Celebrations at PROGRESS

“A Celebration at PROGRESS” – English Version

(Verse 1)

Hey, PROGRESS, raise a glass to thirty-five sweet years,

Where every student finds their voice and leaves behind their fears.

With every single lesson, a brand new passion starts,

You're teaching us the languages that open up our hearts.

(Chorus)

The vibrant Chameleon winks with a knowing cheer,

"Keep going, keep on learning!" the message, loud and clear.

And so we celebrate now, with confidence and pride,

'Cause PROGRESS is the place where learning comes alive.

(Verse 2)

From proper British English to that smooth Brazilian ease,

The rhythm of the Spanish, the chill of Swedish breeze.

You open up our world, unlocking every gate,

‘Cause every tongue we master creates a brighter fate.

(Chorus)

The vibrant Chameleon winks with a knowing cheer,

"Keep going, keep on learning!" the message, loud and clear.

And so we celebrate now, with confidence and pride,

'Cause PROGRESS is the place where learning comes alive.

(Verse 3)

With Jacek at the helm, who guides with so much flair,

He brings the best instructors, there’s magic in the air.

They help us speak with courage, standing proud and tall,

And suddenly exams are no big deal at all.

 (Chorus)

The vibrant Chameleon winks with a knowing cheer,

"Keep going, keep on learning!" the message, loud and clear.

And so we celebrate now, with confidence and pride,

'Cause PROGRESS is the place where learning comes alive.

Task 4:

Authoress: Iza M.

prepared a quiz on the history of PROGRSS.

There was a lot of laughter, because memory can be unreliable...

End of Part I.

ŁUKASZ is the author of the photos. We invited him, or friend and artist painter - Lucas Lucaprio, this time as a photographer.

Part II to be continued...
