Spiritual Kraków
Years ago, I visited ALL the basilicas, churches, and important chapels in Krakow. I knew and felt that the history of my country was within them. I had the impression that, while I was there, I felt a spiritual unity with my homeland of years past, not with the communist one…
Adek doesn't have these experiences, and as an agnostic, he learns our history in Catholic churches.
Today we visited the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi:
The stained glass window by Wyspiański makes a stunning impression!!
and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, where the Chapel of St. Jacek is located – the Renaissance mausoleum of the first Polish Dominican.
So, I have my own patron saint. A little older than me…
I'm not that kind of saint!, though!
