Ngapali Beach

Time to relax. And so, we flew to Ngapali Beach for five days. White sand on the beach, drinks, very warm water in the Bay of Bengal, restaurants on the sand - what more could you want on a vacation in December?

The name Ngapali  (pronounced nyapali ) caame to life when Italian tourists seeing the beautiful bay cried out with delight: Napoli, Napoli! Hence the locals wrote down the name in Burmese.

This part of Burma ( Myanmar ) is growing more slowly, as the local say: “We are situated behind the mountains and everything is late here about two years”. Indeed, there is no good internet and other technological amenities. It makes the holidays real when the isolation from reality is complete.

Seafood is actually the only dish on the menu of all the small restaurants that operate directly on the beach.

In our favourite "Oasis" - Mr. U Wuannah’s - where his wife - Mrs. Yie Yie Than cooks, the food was indescribable. So perfect.

Look at the menu and see the prices . 1000 kyatów = 1 USD .

At the farewell, after a few evening meals in the "Oasis", we got a present – a vase made from coconut shell. This is Mr. U Wuannah’s hobby.
