Via Dolorosa

The most important pilgrimage for Christians is the walk along Via Dolorosa (“Way of Grief", "Way of Sorrows", "Way of Suffering" or simply "Painful Way")  from Gate of Lions (or St. Stephen’s) to the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, inside which there are five last station.

Finding the stations of in the Via Dolorosa is a good training of orientation in space, since most of them are located in the maze of streets, home of thousands of stalls and shops of all goods.

In no way one can concentrate here, since there are crowds of tourists jostling in all directions.

We were trying to avoid different groups of pilgrims carrying their crucifixes.

The interior of the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre is impressive, but  a large crowd of people is disturbing, as well as  the awareness of the fact that it is a place of eternal conflicts of all denominations of Christianity which claim exclusive right to the welfare of the Basilica as a place of crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
