Jerusalem - the Western Wall

Jerusalem is the most revered and worshiped city in the world. For centuries it has been arousing strong emotions. It is still a city that leaves no one indifferent.

Our three-day stay allowed us only to get to know the Old Town, this melting pot of religions and nationalities, and to visit several out of hundreds sights worth seeing.

Seemingly a small town within the walls  4.5km long has hundreds of streets and alleys in a maze system which requires a lot of orientation in space and pretty good physical condition to hit the target.

Certainly, we walked teens of kilometres a day to see the biggest attractions in Jerusalem.

We started trhough the Herod's Gate heading for the Wailing Wall, or the Western Wall - the only remains of the great Temple Mount complex. Today, the Western Wall (for ages the crying has been after the loss of the most important temple) is the heart of Judaism, and this is where the Jews pray and put in notes with intentions between the ancient stones.

And outside the great Western Wall Square intense life of representatives of all monotheistic religions goes on. Seemingly without disturbing each other. Seemingly...
