Manhattan - Broadway

After a short stay at our friends’ - Terenia and Leszek - in Pennsylvania, we went together with them and Lidia (another friend of ours from the time of our study) to New York, to enjoy together another successful musical on Broadway - "Kinky Boots".

The way into New York, and exactly to our hotel, was unexpectedly prevented by a demonstration lasting for hours (supposedly the largest in the history of the city), against the indifference to the climate changes on Earth.

Tough luck that the demonstration was just walking along West Central Park Avenue, exactly where one of the hotels YMCA is located – the place of our accommodation.

The show was at 15: 00 (a so-called matinée) and we feared not to get there on time. Fortunately, the theatre on Broadway is "only" a 30-minute walk from the hotel.

Broadway theatres still are very popular and they are always full. The high cost of tickets somehow does not deter anyone. We believe that it is worth, from time to time, watching a perfect production which intellectually is not too engaging.

And a welcome from the stage: "Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen and good evening to those who have not yet made up their minds."
