Into the jungle

A six-people group decided to go out into the jungle for two days.

The preparations lasted some time: each carries personal items, a hammock and two water bottles.

Backpacks weighed more and more with each moment of trekking, and at a temperature of 30 deg. C scorched more than just struggling with climbing up the jungle hills.

Accessing each waterfall (and there were several on the route) meant continuous climbing the slope and descending to the river.

The hours were passing, and the aim of the first day - the camp - was not approaching.

The meeting of wood thieves (loggers) did not make things easier, because the guides had to change the route so that they would not enter into conflict with the illegal "lumberjacks" who hated tourists.

The route became even longer and harder.

Slowly there was no strength left and drinking water was running out.

Slowly there was a lack of willingness to take pictures and that is why not all dramatic situations got recorded.

And what the statistic likes, happened: the sprained ankle of one of the participants and the need to slow down the march. Until the place where a moped could reach and take the victim to the camp - for the night.

The others arrived at the last minute before dark.

Very tired. Very much.

In the morning it was not better. The leg ached and there was no question of further walking. Brave guides led Gabriela to a place where a tuk-tuk could get, which took her to our hotel in town.

The group moved on to reach after a few hours the final destination of he trekking - the river where the elephants are bathed.

Satisfaction with completing the expedition was enormous and the joy of playing with elephants was equally great.
