Supporting local education

As you know, for several years we have been going to Cambodia and we always stop for a while in Takeo, where in the region we have extensive contacts with several educational institutions.

They are:

ASEAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL in Angkor Borei

ASEAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL in Krong

HOME FOR KIDS INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY in Kampong Chrey

Everywhere there are volunteers from many countries (two or three people) who do a good job, unfortunately they only come for a week or two.

So far, the participants of our tours have donated 4 laptops, 2 tablets, a lot of books to learn English and made stationery shopping on the spot.

In addition, we cooperate with the BOOKBRIDGE Learning Center in the Takeo itself.

BOOKBRIDGE is a registered non-profit organization under German and Swiss law with headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Locally, they cooperate with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.

In Takeo there is their well-equipped library, a reading room and rooms for language learning.

Today, I hosted an open seminar for English learners "Advantages and disadvantages of meeting with tourists – foreigners, on the behaviour and customs of Cambodians".

There were about 30 kids between age of 9 and 15 participated in the seminar. At the beginning they were very tense, but after a while the atmosphere relaxed and I hope that all participants left the meeting satisfied.

Our general goal is to disseminate help to educational institutions in the countries visited. And to the extent possible and good will of the participants of our travel programs, we want to ensure the continuity of those facilities by:

- making donations in the form of computer equipment

- offering textbooks and books for learning English

- shopping (on-site) materials for work in the classroom

- possible donations to the indicated bank account

- offering scholarships for individual children so that they can attend English classes (estimated cost: USD 12 - USD 15 per month, per student).

If you are interested, please contact us directly. In the near future we will send approximately 100 kg English course books to Cambodia.
