Yesterday was a difficult, stressful day.
We had been waiting for the companies that are the key to the functioning of businesses such as ours: Coca-Cola and Cambodia Beer Company.
Without these two companies, no pub will have customers. It’s sad but true. The customer decides what will be sold / bought.
Considering the reliability (in terms of punctuality) of local companies, we had to wait all day for their appearance.
It may seem to you that we did it for the last moment. The paradox is that they did not want to talk to us one week before the opening, and at the end of October a lot of businesses are operating in Kampot, and the representatives of the above-mentioned companies cannot keep up!
After Lim's intervention, a representative of Cambodia Beer came to us and confirmed the technical possibility of installing the draft beer of this company.
Maybe it will arrive on the opening day!
Coca-cola also finally sent their representative; we have agreed terms of cooperation: delivery, payment and possible (stress on possible) benefits in the form of obtaining a free refrigerator for their drinks (exclusively for their products !!).
Then another company with an offer of imported (from Australia, New Zealand and Germany) dairy products (meat does not interest us) which are cheaper in bulk than in supermarkets. They offer milk from Poland – 1,5 usd per litre, the cheapest in the offer.
At the end of the day a bit of pleasure.
"Asian Cellars" - our wine supplier invited us to a wine tasting from the Bordeaux region.
It took place in one of the more expensive restaurants in this city - in the building of the former fish market, hence the name "Fish Market". The location of this restaurant near the river bank allows you to watch the sunsets, which is always an additional attraction for customers.
For us it was important to meet the owner of the "Chateau Le Grand Verdus" vineyard, who talked on the secrets of their wine production. We will need this knowledge in the future promotion of the wines, of which red was excellent, at a reasonable price.
You may guess that the tasting took a long time and we tasted those wines quite effectively ...
