A difficult evening

All messages reach us quickly, but the bad ones are always the first.

It was in the evening when we lgot to know about the tragic end of the bandit attack provoked by a three-year campaign of hatred.

The tragedy is that a great man died who will be very difficult to replace. This is a great loss not only for Gdańsk. It is a loss and pain for all of us who are joined by love for Poland free from chauvinism.

The nationwide tragedy is that a large percentage of Poles do not understand the world that surrounds them ...

Is there any chance for our nation to understand what values are important so that we will not become the pariahs of Europe and the world?

We finished the day at the Chameleon a little earlier to let the shock that we experienced lessen.

We went for an evening walk around the city. We took a few photos, we figured that there were not too many tourists, and those who wrere there do not want to leave the three main streets even by 200 m. Hence the emptiness at the Chameleon.

On the square with the durian monument there also a littlel traffic, and the night market closed already at around 9pm. A fairly mournful amusement park did not attract too many children.

I have a big problem with this durian fruit. The wikipedia gives a lot of information, but they do not write about Kampot durians at all, and this is the region where it grows the most in this part of the world.

Not without reason, in the central point of the city, on a large square there stands a huge monument of this fruit surrounded by smaller ones that are grown in the region.

Personally, I have mixed feelings about this fruit because I do not like those that are not juicy. Anyway, read:

"Durian, a bumblebee kind of plant belonging to mallow. Itis also called a pipe-keeper. It comes from Southeast Asia. It is considered a delicacy mainly in Malaysia and Thailand. Durian fruits grow on huge trees that grow up to 50 meters in height.

Durian is very unstable and it is difficult to buy it in other countries. It is available only in selected places and unfortunately it is quite expensive.

Durian - the fruit that is loved and hated

Durian fruit can reach up to 4 kilograms and 40 centimeters in length. It is covered with a brown-yellow or greenish spiny skin that breaks when the fruit is ripe for 3 to 5 flaps. The flesh of a pudding consistency is edible, has a creamy colour, and its seeds are chestnut-sized.

The characteristic feature of the fruit is an intense smell and, in principle a stink, reminiscent of a combination of rotten meat and old blue cheese. The unpleasant odor also spreads after cutting the fruit and is so intense that  it  must  be eaten outside, where the wind spreads the scent over long distances.

As for the taste of the fruit, some find a cream cheese in it, and others find delicate nuts or raspberries. Durian should be eaten right away, preferably by scooping the pulp with a spoon.

Attention! It is not allowed to combine durian with alcohol and coffee. This combination can be fatal."

A very controversial fruit, isn't it?
