New Year's Eve - Midnight

...around midnight

I must admit that the time difference and the shift of events impresses me.

After the New year's Eve night and quite a short sleep, here I am at the computer drinking coffee, my family is still sleeping, Europe is having fun, the USA have just started dressing up for the ball.

Around 10pm we took a train (that's what they call metro here) and went to the city to the chosen site at the harbour pier - now a place of posh restaurants and postidustrial lofts. It took us over an hour to pave our way through thick crowd gathered at the most attractive spots but we preferred "ours" much less packed.

The organization of the event was very good, the police very helpful and nice, tipsy youth non-aggrresive, we ourselves were in good mood.

Our photos show barely the Harbour Bridge surroundings, the Opera was beyond our reach. If  you want to see more go to the Google: Sydney fireworks - graphics.

It's a pitty the show lasted only 13 minutes, not 20 as it was announced!

We came back home tired but happy that we took part in that Australia's national event.
