This was not a Fools' Day

On April 1, 2019, the Spring decided to make a trick to us and simply spread her wings. 

Maybe she will keep her joke and stay longer. It would be nice of her if she would not allow the summer to overtake her too soon over, which can mercilessly become hot in the months which do not belong to it. 

Due to my new activity (sports?), mild spring temperatures are most desirable. 

Well, in the company of friends, who are free from their professional activities, we will be touring the vivinities of Szczecin on bikes. We will certainly venture outside the country, to Germany, where the terrain is particularly friendly to cyclists. 

Today, for a warm-up, we covered 20 km in the Arkona Forest and around Głębokie Lake. 

I was enchanted by the educational and recreational path in the area of ​​ Ponds of the Marmaids’. 

I am satisfied with my physical condition and I hope that an important part of my body will allow me to get on my bike tomorrow.

The Arkona Forest Park (Arkoński Park), (until 1945 German Eckerberger Wald) – The forest recreational area included in the forest promotional complex Puszcze Szczecińskie, part of the Wkrzańska Forest, area 976,9 ha, located in the north and north-western part of Szczecin on the Warszewskie Hills. 

The hollows are occupied by several small lakes: Arkonka, Goplana and Głuszec, as well as the ponds Ponds of the Marmaids’, Cichy Staw, Górny Staw and smaller.

 The Arkona Forest has a significant significance on the Szczecin map of places designated for sport, leisure and recreation. There are numerous walking routes (with designated tourist routes), several viewpoints, a toboggan run, and even a ski lift. The southern part of the Arkona Forest together with the Kasprowicz Park is created by the nature and landscape complex "Kasprowicz-Arkoński Park Complex" with a total area of 96.8 ha.
