Time to say good-bye

Time to say good-bye to Kazimierz and part with the Festival.

Kazimierz widok

These have been wonderful days ...

On the last day, we visited a small church dedicated to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the monastery of the reformer fathers, in which the regional museum was established.

An interesting element of this monastery is a cloister garth:

"A cloister garth (Latin viridarium - grove, park) - a square or rectangular garden placed inside the monastery walls. It is often surrounded by cloistered. In the middle there is usually a well or a fountain. A cloister garth was foreseen by the rule of many medieval monasteries (Benedictines, Cistercians, Carthusians) as an inseparable part of the monastery's foundation. Cloister garths in the form of flower and herb gardens were widespread in the 16th century. They grew marjoram, basil, sage, rue, violets, cloves, lilies, roses, rosemary, lavender and many more."

So finally, have look at some pictures of the monastery and the views of Kazimierz from the hill on which this monastery is located.

Kazimierz Dolny is an unmtached place on the Wisła River.
