Day eleven. Avocado and friends

One of the important reasons for our trip to the USA is meeting Teresa and Leszek. We have been friends for so long that the oldest highlanders don't remember ...

This time we meet in Brooklyn to spend two days together.

A walk around this district made us realize that New York is not only Manhattan. One can also live here

Our meeting here was not without emotions, because a week before the election we could not refrain from discussing what awaits us! Good wines (with an emphasis on plural) have soothed our nerves a little!

The food was good too ...

In the US, there is a lot of everything and everything seems bigger. An example would be avocado, where one of the species has fruit that is not found in trade in Europe.

See how tiny the bar is with this avocado:

Awocado

Naturally, it tastes great.

Or maybe you will start growing an avocado tree yourselves?

Hodowla

Apparently it is obvious, and yet:

"The avocado (Persea americana), a tree with probable origin in South Central Mexico,[2][3][4] is classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae.[2] The fruit of the plant, also called an avocado (or avocado pear or alligator pear), is botanically a large berry containing a single large seed.[5]

Avocados are commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates throughout the world.[2] They have a green-skinned, fleshy body that may be pear-shaped, egg-shaped, or spherical. Commercially, they ripen after harvesting. Avocado trees are partially self-pollinating, and are often propagated through grafting to maintain predictable fruit quality and quantity.[6] In 2017, Mexico produced 34% of the world supply of avocados."
