The trip goes on

We are coming back to our tourist reality - it's time to leave the fairytale Hacienda Santo Cristo, say goodbye to the Young Couple and the Family and return to the capital.

Atlixco is in the state of Puebla, so we're going back stop in the state capital - Puebla*.

Katedra

This big city with beautiful colonial architecture has many attractions, but we don't have much time so we go the Toad District**, where the Sunday market of antiques and artistic products comes to end.

We had a late lunch in a charming local restaurant where food and decor gave us the full joy of being in "real" Mexico.

*Puebla - a city in central Mexico, in the Volcanic Cordillera, at an altitude of 2195 meters, which is the capital of the state of Puebla. 1,500,000 inhabitants.

Puebla is an important industrial and cultural center of the country. Developed industry of means of transport (car production), machine, metal (including ironworks), building materials, ceramic, glass, textile, leather and food. Trade and craft center. The city is also an important rail and road junction with an airport. Is a famous tourist center.

**Barrio de los Sapos or Callejón de los Sapos (The street of the Frogs) is a tourist attraction in the city of Puebla's historic centre.

Sapos

It is said that in colonial times the waters of the San Francisco River overflowed frequently flooding the alley of 6 South. People gave utility to the flood of the river and installed there some mills. However, stagnant water and the activities carried out in it attracted a large number of toads, a fact that gave rise to the current name of the neighbourhood..

From 10 am, every Sunday, you can find countless articles on the stands of Callejón de los Sapos. Antiques, crafts, art objects and numismatics predominate. It is a traditional walk when visiting the capital of Puebla. On Fridays and Saturdays at night the square is filled with music that can be enjoyed in a bar or cafe.
