KONTRAPUNKT day IV

Theater has a wonderful feature: it does not impose any opinion. Everyone has the right and opportunity to find for themselves in the matter proposed by the theater.

I am convinced that more than a few dozen theatrical enthusiasts crammed into the rather small audience of the Youth Palace got a dose of emotion that needs to be digested, understood and assessed.

Too bad! I didn't like the performance. Intellectual (mine) imperfections did not allow me to answer the question "what did the poet mean".

The texts of the performance creators did not help me - the entry in the Festiwal catalog ...

Ioredom. The actors certainly had more fun than the audience.

I believe that the actors fulfilled their acting tasks to the director's satisfaction.

„Jezus"

"Have you heard about Jesus Christ?

This is one of the most important stories in the history of mankind. Many meanings are attributed to it, but most of all it is a story about radical, unconditional love and its power, about the power of sacrifice and the ability to cross all boundaries. Two thousand years ago, the teachings of Jesus against the existing, brutal worldview led to the creation of a new type of community, transforming the social, spiritual, religious and political order of the time. It sparked a revolution, the fruits of which laid the foundations of European culture as we know it today. (...)

The intimate performance of Teatr Nowy in Warsaw is nothing more than another attempt to enter into a dialogue with the history written in the gospels and a kind of 21st-century gnosis. (...)

The artists use the point of contact between religion and art to use theater to tell about their own, contemporary understanding of the radical teachings of Jesus and about the needs and longings related to it."
