Mala Strana

Malá Strana

„Mala Strana (Little Side, formerly Little Town) - a district of Prague, until 1784 an independent town located at the foot of the Prague Castle, on the left bank of the Vltava River.

In 1784, Mala Strana, along with other historical districts, became the nucleus of a united Prague, and many streets and buildings were given a baroque appearance. Mozart often stayed here in the years 1787–1791.

The first electric trams appeared in Prague at the end of the 19th century, while a national jubilee exhibition was held on Petřín Hill in 1891, the most famous memento of which is a smaller copy of the Eiffel Tower - Petřínská rozhledna.

Currently, the district, like the whole Prague, is trampled by crowds of tourists - they are attracted by beautiful houses (with facades presenting all styles from Gothic to Baroque), palaces and churches, as well as countless pubs, restaurants and shops as well as picturesque streets, often running uphill , on the slopes of Hradčany and Petřina.”

We are marching bravely, the road is getting longer, far away to the center of Mala Strana Town, and we are thirsty. So, on the way we drop into a few pubs, after that we don't really want to go on into this cold night. It felt warm in the pub ...

We conclude that pubs are dominated by young people (as similarly in our cities), which proves that the young generation is doing well and that they are not afraid of difficult times, or Good Friday. It seems to me that the Czechs do not really know what it is ...
