Another culture and cultural shock

The latest drama by Dorota Masłowska, written at the invitation of STUDIO, is a multi-threaded story about Warsaw in the 1970s, shaken by rumors about a prowling strangler.

We get to know the realities of the Gierek decade mainly through the perspectives of the inhabitants of the city rebuilt in pain, terrified by the case of Dusidamek (ladies' strangler) from Mokotów. This, however, seems to be only a pretext to show their unspoken and unheard secrets, dramas and traumas.

Taking the form of a militia crime story with all its absurdities, Masłowska depicts a fanciful and baroque world of the "atomic age", full of everyday incidents, violence and dreams. One day none other than David Bowie will pass through this communist landscape, saturated with the author's inimitable and lively language.

The world premiere of "Bowie in Warsaw" is a stage crime story directed by Marcin Liber. The spectacle, based around the legendary visit of the artist, is an ode to love, especially the unfulfilled and unbloomed one. You haven't heard of.

The dose of "culture" was quite large, so intellectually charged and slightly cold, we return to Szczecin to wait for spring...
