The second evening at the Philharmonic in the new artistic season

For the second season, Przemysław Neumann, director of the Szczecin Philharmonic, is hosting a series of concerts beginning with a well-illustrated mini-lecture on the great symphonies in world music.

He introduces audiences—both those experienced in classical music and those just beginning their philharmonic journey—to works that have become a permanent part of the canon of symphonic music, and their composers a part of the pantheon of artists of our world.

We fondly remember three such concerts last season and are even more eager for more to come.

A preview of these concerts on the Szczecin Philharmonic website:

"Monuments of Symphony are unique encounters with the greatest works of orchestral music, accompanied by short introductions by the Philharmonic's director, Przemysław Neumann. The first evening will take place on September 27th and will be devoted to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74, and Pathetique.

There are works that captivate from the very first note. But there are also those that demand attention. They unfold gradually – and stay with us for a long time. The Monuments of Symphony series was created for those who want to listen consciously – with a curiosity for form, context, and detail. For listeners who want not only to hear but also to understand why these works have gone down in history as pillars of symphonic music. (...)"

Well, on the second day of the 2025/26 artistic season, we once again listened to the symphony we admired yesterday.

This time, we had the pleasure of listening to the Conductor, who beautifully spoke about the genesis of the piece and the fragment of the composer's life that was significant during the creation of this great work.
