Rome from day to day

On Saturday, we can see "ordinary" Rome in the centre of the city. The weather is a little better - more sunshine, but the temperature still does not exceed 10 °C.

Not too many tourists in town, so we can freely move around the city. Many restaurants seem to be empty at daytime, only the "beaters" invite us to enter. But we have our plans.

We spent a moment in the Campo dei Fiori with unmoved Giordano Bruno (burned at the stake here on 17 February 1600., and his ashes were thrown into the Tiber).

Lunch at the "Grotte de Teatro di Pompeo, where we ate gnocchi (small dumplings  with seafood). Yummee! We drank vino di casa and breathed in the atmosphere of antiquity. Local Romans do not seem to worry too much about such historic places - they have them on daily basis.

A mandatory place where you can look at the life of the city is the Piazza della Rotonda around the majestic Pantheon from the first century BC: weddings, mini-concerts, motionless human figures, a fiat 500 jamboree and other attractions allow you to breath while running around the town.

Do not hesitate to read about the Pantheon in Wikipedia ...

After-dinner coffee and grappa (grape distillate) at the bar "Mecanismo" allowed us to gather the strength for the next stage ...
