From the beautiful city of Sur we are heading to the capital - Muscat. We have about 200 km to drive.
Not far away! But along the way there are some "things to do". We have to enter into another wadi (Wadi Tiwi) which goes several kilometers into the canyon and approx. 1000m (going from sea level!) up the mountains.
There a gravel, and at times it is paved. This road is necessary forthe local people; there live people in the villages along the entire wadi.
Wadis are life-giving.
About an hour we are driving up and up to the end of the road. Paul - the driver - doing well, but we prefer not to look down into the abyss
A local tells us that further up it is no longer possible ... We are going down wondering which way maks us less afraid: Upwards or downwards...
You can tell that the photos do not reflect actual either height ordepth of the canyon. We just hope that you will be also a little afraid!
