Takeo - a school full of entusiasts

One of the goals of our trip to Cambodia is to support the local school of English.
This school is run, or actually being built from scratch by two local enthusiasts, to serve those children and youth who, in a different situation, would not have any chance for education.

One can help them in many ways. Young volunteers come here, who teach up to their skills alongside Khmer teachers. Neither the former nor the latter have appropriate pedagogical education, but the involvement and enthusiasm in this project allows them to act to the satisfaction of the children.
Currently, a new didactic space is being built in the neighborhood, which will allow to take care of over 200 children.

Working and learning conditions differ from those we know, but it must be noted that the enthusiasm of those involved can move mountains.
We, for our part, decided to equip the school with a few laptops (four of them today), making it possible for several computers to create a computer class, thus expanding the scope of didactic activities.

Our donation fell on the day of the school's headmaster’s birthday. Sophea (pron. Sopiye) is 28 years old, has some experience and is open to advice from more experience friends from other countries.
We will try to continue helping the school that works for the good of the local community for such little money.

After the official handing over of the equipment, a birthday party was held in the company of the sponsors, teachers - volunteers and Khmer working for the school.
It was very nice. Both Khmer and Poles have demonstrated their artistic skills by singing, for example, scout songs.

The party was interrupted by a violent storm and rainfall, which appeared in the middle of the dry season! Also here, in this region, we observe significant climate changes.

Today, it is not known what the consequences may be.
