A rainy day

Unexpectedly for us, but according to the weather forecast, yesterday it was a rainy all day.

Sparsely, there were few passers-by and few vehicles on the street.

We used the day to fill freezers with dishes that can be deep frozen without losing too much taste.

This time it was a casserole - a type of vegetable pot with the main ingredient of green beans and a standard multi-vegetable stew (otherwise known as vegetable goulash).

Adek collected another important document - a work permit (including job searching). It allows him to stay on and apply for another visa extension.

But I have no right to employ him. In the case of a foreigner's getting an employment permit requires a very complicated procedure.

Look what happened: Adek is a foreigner to me!

As you can see from the date - the permit is only valid until the end of the year. Those cards are issued for calendar years and even if it is only a month of a given year left, you have to pay a yearly fee. And there must be continuity from the date of entry to Cambodia.

As you can see a country in which there is no clear tax system, they manage by charging appropriate fees, among others from foreigners.

Who does not want to pay, is exposed to large penalties, inclusive to expulsion from the country.

A photo of the card with a spiky cactus has its own meaning in the issue.

At the end of the day - a well-deserved drink.
