The joy of life and the concept of death

A visit at the mercado Artesanías Ciudadela (town of handicrafts) once again confirmed that life is merrier among the colours that hide the grayness of life.

Wandering along the allyes of the market, it is impossible not to smile seeing products in thousands of sharp colours.

And the choice of craft items there is huge.

Another phenomenon occurring in Mexico is the cult of death, in the form of Santa Muerte.

In the market, millions of skulls, skeletons and a disguised Santa Muerte prove that it is good to tame her and keep her close at home.

Śmierć

From Mexican Wikipedia:

"The history of skulls concerns a slightly special position of man towards death.

Old Mexican residents saw death as a dynamic phenomenon, for them it was a transition to a new life. This concept gave birth to a positive attitude, one could say joking before death; because this is not a human enemy, but is seen as a companion, canrade, colleague. That is why the Mexican is not afraid of death, they are more worried about life because of the uncertainty it provides."
