At the Szczecin Philharmonic

Beethoven's Missa Solemnis (Solemn Mass) to start the season after a looooong break ...

This masterpiece, according to musicologists, the most personal piece by the composer, sounded great in our Philharmonic, and not only good, as this institution advertises in its program: THE SZCZECIN PHILHARMONIC SOUNDS GOOD.

Four soloists, a choir from Latvia (60 people) and a conductor from Spain made us  listen with full concentration, and the general pause that appears in the "Gloria" part of the mass "sounded" overwhelming and very intimate.*

The season at the Philharmonic started very promising. We are proud that this magnificent building and well-run institution attract the best artists from all over the world.

* An announcement appeared before the concert, presented in a kind way, so as not to applaud during the pauses!

The silence in the hall during the pause was overwhelming.  But the hands themselves were willing to applaud!
