Bike weekend (1)

Beautiful sunny weather in the October weekend motivated us to return to the bicycle routes.

The excess of family and business duties resulted in an over two-month break in this recreation.

As long as we are still in the EU, we need to use the German routes, where, apart from good bicycle paths, there is no car traffic, and somehow only few people. Maybe they are afraid of immigrants and prefer not to leave their homes.

However, the fields are developed, which means that someone is working on them. The immigrants?

Before World War II, a narrow-gauge railway route ran through the villages located on both sides of today's border. The Casekow-Penkun-Oder line was built at the beginning of the 20th century and connected, among others, now on our side: Barnisław, Warnik, Karwowo, Będargowo and Warzymice.

Today we were in Hohenholz, where there is no trace of even the station of this railway.

We did not notice any trace of rural life either. But the ride was amazing. 42 km and 3.5 hours in the sunshine and among green fields and autumn colours of trees and shrubs.
