Giving respect to the Eternal City we started off at the Capitol Hill and museums located there.

The Hill and the temple which used to be there, symbolized the power of Roman Empire and hence the name caput mundi - the head, which means the capital of the world.

Michelangelo designed the impressive staircase and the square, which is the pride of the city. Olaf’s story about the heart of ancient Rome and the two museums on the Square can in no way be reduced here, so those interested can find on the internet: Piazza del Capidoglio, Cordonata, Marcus Aurelius, The Dying Gaul, Capitoline’s She-wolf, Constantine II.

During the visits we strengthened ourselves with traditional”doppio” espresso and a view of the late evening Rome. Full of impressions, but hungry, we went to Trastevere because that's where one eats best.

We ate and drank. Among other things, the season vegetables: artichokes baked in butter! They melted in our mouth.
