An evening in Singapore

... with an ugly surprise nr 4

We have arrived in Singapore very tired after a short two-hour flight from Bangkok. The Cathay Pacific Airlines seemed to be a very good, service-oriented airline, however ...

Yes, it was another ugly surprise.

A huge aircraft Boeaing 777 was getting full very quickly. I our section of the plane there was a group of about 100 Chinese from the same village. They all knew each other and seemed to be very befriended. Everybody was helping everybody and everybody was talking loudly (very loudly). Preferably with someone from the opposite part of the cabin. First they couldn't get along (shouting, of course) where to sit, and then it only became worse. The cabin crew did not interfere.

We have been suffering from a minor cold for some days now caused by airconditioning set everywhere for about 15 deg. C, so it's easy to get a headache. This time the noise and clamor finished us off.

A compensation turned out to be a hotel of the butique group. It's a class for itself, however, for the money we had (no breakfast), we could only get a neat cubicle. With a beautiful bathroom  and the Internet rampaging like a hurricane. Eventually silence and peace!

After an adequate rest, we set off for a sightseeing evening. We started with Chinatown. Those few photos don't give all the colours but we assure you that we haven't seen so much of the "chinese stuff" so far.

We are not going to float about money. All we want to say is that the prices exceed our possibilities, so it's good we are off to Bali n Monday!
