After the storm

The second day of the gale, but we can already walk on the beach and around the city.

The huge commercial port of Veracruz is located in the heart of the city, which gives it a special atmosphere.

The carnival has just ended, so the city has been depopulated, and the streets, restaurants and bars are clearly devoid of customers.

Ice cream at Güero, Güero are excellent. The choice of fruit ice cream is huge. We chose mamey fruit * - a completely new taste for us!

Mamey

*Mamey - Fruit from the Chico Zapote* familybut bigger and harder. Dark orange inside with a large, black stone.

*Chico Zapote: here you can see the exotic fruits of Mexico: Owoce Meksyku

The today photos are gray, so was the  colour was the sky.

An evening walk brought us to the central square of the city, where the so-called "life" happens.
In the open air, a trainer taught a large group a dance called danzón*.

danzon

*Danzón - is the official music and dance genre of Cuba. It is also an active music form in Mexico, and also very popular in Puerto Rico. Written in a 2 by 4 rhythm. It is a slow dance with a patner / partneress, requiring constant kicks around synchronized beats and involving elegant pauses, while couples listen to virtuoso instrumental fragments, characteristically played by a charanga or tipica tropical band.

At the end of the day, farewell to Don Sofia in a port cafe with a very long tradition.
