Taming the Life. My Talks with Adrian
Episode 59
Talk fifty eight.
New York, 14th April, in the evening
- Did you enjoy the hit musicals of the season 2011/2012 - The Book of Mormon[2]?
- It turned out to be a very funny show. The text was for me to follow easy. Even I understood it all.
- This exuberant show is about how young Mormons, during their compulsory missions, try to convert to their faith, some villagers in Uganda. That's a pretty sharp satire on many American stereotypes, told with a very spicy language. Americans react with laughter in the theater every time they hear the F word, like Poles when they hear the D (ass in Polish) word. And there were many "fucks" in the performance. It was perfect acting of all the twenty white and black actors who were rewarded with a long standing ovation. Very much deserved.
- There were some gay elements, too, because today all theatre plays, films, or novels must have some homosexual plot for marketing purposes.
- You see, nothing without us. There’s no life without us.
- And tomorrow we’re getting on a plane and after a touch-down in London, we’ll be back home! Where one can live after all!?
