This is another, the fifth trip to Myanmar.
It will be very different from the previous ones for two reasons:
First:
National League for Democracy, led by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in the parliamentary elections in May 2015, won more than 80 percent of the votes in the country. This is the first free election in 25 years.
It completely changes the political situation in Myanmar and observing these developments closely will be fascinating.
Secondly:
We're going with a group of 14 friends who for nearly a year have been preparing mentally and physically for the trip. Inspired by our stories about Myanmar, they decided to join us on a three-week route described below.
We hope that all participants will support this blog with their own photos and descriptions of the experiences.
